Researchers Develop Swarm of Ping Pong Ball Sized Robots

Researchers at University of Colorado Boulder Assistant Professor Nikolaus Correll, created a swarm of twenty of the robots, they call "droplets." They are also developing software to enable the robots to work together. They plan to use this software as a platform for more complex swarm robotics. Correll says swarms of robots could one day be unleashed to contain an oil spill or to self-assemble into hardware in space.
