The U.S. and Russian crew of the International Space Station, Expedition 34 all celebrated Thanksgiving Day with some options from both con tries. Astronaut Kevin Ford is the only American currently aboard the ISS. Their menu includes irradiated smoked turkey, Russian mashed potatoes and onions and candied, "thermo-stabilized" yams, combined with marshmallow creme. For dessert, the group had Russian apple dessert, cherry-peach cobbler and cranberry-apple dessert. The food is made by adding hot water to the plastic food pouches and waiting 15 minutes before it's ready to eat.
