Video: Scientists Discover 'Grand Canyon' of Antarctica

Scientists say they have discovered a one-mile-deep rift valley hidden beneath the ice in West Antarctica. The linear-shaped valley could be the cause of ice loss from the continent. Dubbed the Ferrigno Rift, scientists say the ancient basin could connect warmer coastal waters to thick layers inland, exacerbating ice loss.
