Image: Oldest Musical Instruments Found in German Cave

The world's oldest musical instruments were recently identified in Geissenklosterle Cave in Germany by researchers from Universitat Tubingen. The instruments, such as flutes made from mammoth bones, indicate the upper Danube region was inhabited more than 42,000 – 43,000 years ago. Prior to the discovery, researchers believed humans migrated to the area much later. There was also evidence of jewelry and art found in the cave.
