Video: Cormorants Build 100,000 Nests in Bahrain Desert

Hundreds of thousands of Socotra Comorants nest in the Bahrain desert despite the scorching heat. These seabirds build nests to breed in the bare sand in order to keep their vulnerable young away from predators. In fact, the only danger here is each other so the birds build their nests just out of reach from their neighbor's. They feed their young through little fishing grounds created when sand from offshore winds blow in nutrients. Life may be tough for this threatened species, but the cormorants have found a way to adapt.
