Fun Video: Strange Jelly Falls From Sky

Weird blue jelly-like spheres fell into the yard of a home in England during a hail storm.
The blue, gelatinous substances have no scent and don't dissolve in water. The man who found the spheres, Steve Hornsby, says the stuff isn't very sticky. The spheres could be a result of pollution, but it's also likely the substance is a green material called a hydrogel ball. These balls are used to keep cut flowers fresh and when planting trees. The substance grows when wet and could have remained scattered in the yard till the hailstorm caused the pieces to expand. While hydrogel balls are a likely answer, a British scientist has also brought up the possibility of the balls being marine eggs carried on the back of birds that fell into the yard. For now, the mysterious substance remains in a glass canning jar in Hornsby's home.
