Cool Video: Tour the James Webb Space Telescope

This NASA video shows the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), the most powerful space telescope ever built.
A collaboration by NASA, the European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency, the JWST is the successor to the Hubble space telescope. The JWST will have the largest mirror ever launched in space at 22 feet (6.5 meters) in diameter. Each segment of the mirror is built with beryllium, a strong and light element. Building such a mirror is challenging but the telescope must have a large mirror in order to collect more light from distant objects. The JWST is expected to be completed by 2018 and observe galaxies more than 13 billion light years away from us.
