Stallion Semen Sold As Energy Drink
Horse semen is considered a delicacy in the Australian island of Tasmania, where glasses of the fluid will be served up during the Hokitika Wildfoods festival in March.
"Horses are pure testosterone, you know. They have hardly any cholesterol, so the idea is you knock it back and feel like a stallion yourself," racehorse owner Lindsay Kerslake of Christchurch, a city on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand, told news.com.au. "You'll have as much zizz as a stallion for a week afterwards."
The drink, which costs about $7.60, will be offered in several flavors, including cherry and licorice. The beverage will also be sold au natural, for those who prefer their horse semen without artificial flavoring. Each drink will be sold with a chaser that is similar to Red Bull, aptly named "Powerhorse."
"We're pretty confident tests will explain how and why it makes you feel so good, but that's still being worked on," festival organizer Mike Keenan said regarding why the drink is touted as invigorating. Keenan said that he will not be trying the unique beverage himself.
Past delicacies at the festival include wild pig gut kebabs with fresh eel slime sauce, wasp larvae ice cream , bull penis and a pig snout dish.
